Hear a brief history of baking bread, including intriguing background to local women’s roles in baking in Bucks. Find out about some of the many varieties of bread and their cultural and global significance.
There will be fun for all the family, with Fascinating Facts, a Quick Quiz, and recipes to take away.
Women have bound their families and communities together with the gift of bread through the ages. Recipes and stories were handed down from mother to daughter and shared with friends. Everyone gained from these ancient traditions. Traditions that continue today.
Come along to sample breads, buns and more, from around the world. There will be spreads and dips, and take-away bags for those who are fasting. Tea, coffee etc will also be served.
We shall be running a raffle, with great prizes, in aid of Chiltern Foodbank and UNICEF's appeals for children in Ukraine and Gaza.
