Event Details
Join us on 8th March for a community celebration of International Women's Day and its theme, “Give to Gain". Hear a brief history of bread, with intriguing tales of local women’s roles in baking in Bucks. Learn a little of the many varieties of bread and their cultural and global significance.
Fun for all the family, including Fascinating Facts, a Quick Quiz, and recipes to take away.
Women have bound their families and communities together with the gift of bread through the ages. Recipes, stories and traditions, handed down and shared with family and friends, continue to this day.
Come along to sample breads, buns and more, from around the world. There will be spreads and dips and take-away bags for those who are fasting. Tea, coffee and soft drinks will also be served.
We shall be running a raffle, with great prizes, in aid of Chiltern Foodbank and UNICEF's appeals for children in Ukraine and Gaza.
