How Liberals Can Take the Fight to the Populists on Climate Change
Join us for a timely and thought-provoking panel discussion, “How Liberals Can Take the Fight to the Populists on Climate Change,” featuring Elliot Chapman-Jones, Director of Liberals and Democrats for Nature and Climate, and local Lib Dem councillors and sustainable business champions.
As climate misinformation and populist narratives continue to distort public debate, this event will explore how liberals can lead with honesty, optimism, and evidence to reframe the climate conversation.
Drawing on fresh polling data, Elliot Chapman-Jones will reveal key insights into what the British public really thinks about climate change — and how this often contrasts sharply with the divisive messages spread by populist movements.
Sean Hughes, Owner of Dylan’s in St Albans, and councillors Jacqui Taylor and Keith Cotton will then reflect on how liberal values of fairness, community, and internationalism can form the foundation of community climate action in St Albans, challenge cynicism and inspire real action.
This event is a must for campaigners, policymakers, and anyone who wants to see liberals reclaim the narrative and build public trust in climate leadership.
