About Nick Harvey and the European Movement

Nick became CEO of EMUK in July 2023, and before this was Liberal Democrat MP for Devon from 1992 to 2015, and Minister of State for the Armed Forces from 2010 to 2012. In 1992, Paddy Ashdown appointed him as spokesperson for Transport, and Trade and Industry two years later.

Nick was also Chief Exec of the Lib Dems and has been a member of both the home affairs select committee, as well as the standards and privileges committee.

Nick uses his political connections, his deep commitment to Europe and his experience from his time in government to lead EMUK. They are an organisation above party politics. They are campaigning to limit the damage done by Brexit and build closer ties with Europe.
