Event Details

Come join us at the first Wandsworth LibDems Action Day of 2023.

We will doing a knock-and-drop, where we will:

* Knock on people's doors
* Tell them about our support for the Save Wimbledon Park campaign
* Ask them to fill in a survey

The campaign support and survey will be on a single leaflet that we will provide you with copies.

Our hope is to have you fill them in on the doorstep but we will also drop off copies at houses where there is no answer, or hand them to residents if you don't wish to fill in the form then and there.

BREAKDOWN OF DAY

We are splitting up the day into morning and afternoon.

In the morning we will meet up at 9.30am at Caffe Nero opposite Southfields Tube for a briefing, leaving at 10am to do the knock-and-drop.

We will meet up for lunch at around 12.30pm at the Old Fields pub on 20 Replingham Road (close to Southfields tube)

A photographer will also meet us there around 12.30pm and we will take some group shots around the area.

At around 1pm, we will given an afternoon briefing

At 1.30pm, we will head out again, most of us heading down toward Wimbledon Park where the photographer will capture some shots of us in the park as well as knocking on doors etc etc.

At 4pm-4.30pm, we'll call it a day, meet back up at the Old Fields pub and have a drink, chat, relax.

WHAT'S ON THE LEAFLET

The leaflet we will put in the postboxes of Southfields residents will comprise two things:

•  A letter from us indicating our support for the Save Wimbledon Park campaign in response to the All England Lawn Tennis Club's (AETLC) expansion plans. We are opposed to them and have launched a petition. You can find out more here

•  A survey - also available online - asking people about their priorities and views on local issues.

What do you need?

•  Comfy shoes

•  Your best, friendliest attitude

•  To register here so we have an idea of numbers

•  To turn up at either 9.30am or 1pm to get instructions and pick up bundles of leaflets

•  A wooden spatula to push leaflets through postboxes (optional but much easier if you have one)

Thank you so much - we look forward to seeing you all
