How do we stop the war in Ukraine?
Lib Dem member, and former London Assembly candidate, Rob Blackie had an idea: Get the truth about the war in Ukraine to Russians, using digital advertising.
Rob founded the Breaking Putin's Censorship campaign which has now shown more than 450 million adverts to Russians, helping them find out the truth about the war.
The Guardian described it as 'a modern-day samizdat network. Samizdat, the Russian word for clandestine material, was highly influential in the USSR, helping spread a mass of protests, banned work and documents. The method was the typewriter, the means people’s hands – now upgraded to the internet'
The campaign has been featured around the world as an example of activists using technology to beat dictators. It recently won 'Best Digital Campaign' at The Drum Awards for Social Purpose.
Rob will explain how the campaign works, and what the Lib Dems can learn from it.
The £5 charge is for entry. You can order pizza & drinks at the venue.
