Event Details
The greatest threats to our security are below the threshold of armed conflict. Not just terrorism, but the use of propaganda, dirty money, organised crime, physical intimidation and other measures to influence our decision-making and demoralise the public. Elisabeth Braw is a world expert in “Grey Zone” warfare, who advises the British and other governments on how we can keep our countries safe and free. She and Edward Lucas have been friends and colleagues for many years. Don’t miss this chance to hear behind the scenes insights on these vital topics.
Elisabeth is a senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute (AEI), and a columnist with Foreign Policy, where she writes on national security and the globalised economy, and the author of The Defender’s Dilemma: Identifying and Deterring Grayzone Aggression (2021).
Elisabeth was a senior research fellow at RUSI, whose Modern Deterrence project she led, and worked at Control Risks, a global risk consultancy. She is a member of the steering committee of the Aurora Forum (the UK-Nordic-Baltic leader conference) and of the UK National Preparedness Commission. She regularly writes op-eds, including for the Financial Times, Politico, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and the Wall Street Journal. She is also the author of God’s Spies, about the Stasi (2019).
