Haringey Lib Dems Conference 2023!

This local one-day event, being held on Saturday 1st April, is a fantastic opportunity to learn more about the local party, pick up some new skills, hear from some up-and-coming stars and debate some policies we can take to Federal Conference! Held at one of Haringey's friendliest community venues, Union Church and Community Centre on Weston Park, we are excited to be able to re-launch one of our most successful events.

The day will start with speeches and some expert training from the Association of Liberal Democrat Councillors. This will be an exciting opportunity to learn how we can better hold Labour to account, as well as a chance to meet your local councillors and candidates from the May elections and share ideas about to make our borough better.

Then, we'll have a talk from Lisa Smart, parliamentary candidate for Hazel Grove, who until recently was the party's Campaigns Supremo as Chair of the Communications and Elections Committee. Lunch will be provided, and we will move on to hear from some really exciting local groups including Disability Action Haringey. We'll be debating local and national policy for much of the afternoon, and then have the opportunity to hear a rallying closing speech from Baroness Lynne Featherstone, former MP for Hornsey & Wood Green and now member of the House of Lords. Lunch and refreshments are provided at points throughout the day and the building has reasonable mobility access.

As I'm sure you agree, much to look forward to, and we're really excited to hold the first Conference in almost four years, after it was previously curtailed due to Covid. Entry is free (although donations are welcome), but registration is required.
